Lithium iron phosphate batteries have two significant disadvantages. One is relatively low energy density, large weight and volume, and the other is sensitive to temperature. Low temperature environment charge greatly reduced. Energy density does not meet the national requirements of 150Wh/kg, not suitable for large-scale use of passenger vehicles.

Three-way lithium batteries are rapidly becoming widely used. Byd, which has recognized the advantages of lithium iron phosphate, is also gradually replacing the power batteries in its models with three-way lithium. These models include the Tang Dynasty, the Qin Dynasty, etc. Newer models, including hybrid versions of Japanese manufacturers Accord and Camry, now also use three-way lithium-ion batteries. With the use of three-way lithium batteries, the energy density is greatly increased, the battery size is reduced, the weight is reduced, and more practical space is obtained in the passenger compartment or trunk. Therefore, in summary, the advantages of ternary lithium battery in the current policy environment are more significant.

In addition to endurance, charging is also an important link in the practical application of electric vehicles. The three-way lithium battery has a great advantage over the lithium iron phosphate battery in terms of charging power. When charging below 10C, there is no significant difference in constant current ratio between ternary lithium battery and lithium iron phosphate battery. Above 10C, the constant current share of lithium iron phosphate battery decreases rapidly, resulting in a sharp decline in electric quantity.
