On February 7, Ningde Times made the latest response to the topic of concern to the outside world on the interactive platform. Among them, Ningde Times said Kirin battery is expected to be mass-produced in the first quarter of 2023. As for sodium-ion batteries, Ningde Times says it is working towards the commercialization of sodium-ion batteries by 2023.
Ningde Times also mentioned that the company has been leading the international forefront of research, and is now fully promoting the battery technology layout of sodium ion, M3P, condensed matter, cobalt-free battery, all-solid battery, non-rare metal battery and so on. At the same time, the company expands production according to demand, and the production capacity is expected to be released gradually, in order to stabilize production and ensure the delivery of customer demand.
It is reported that the Kirin battery is equipped with the world's first large surface cooling technology. The technology is based on changes in the cell, placing the water-cooling function between the cells, which increases the heat transfer area by four times. Through various technological upgrades, Kirin battery can increase the energy density of ternary battery system to 255Wh/kg and lithium iron phosphate battery system to 160Wh/kg.
Compared with ternary lithium battery and lithium iron phosphate battery, the performance of sodium ion battery is better in low temperature discharge and fast charge. At the same time, because sodium metal reserves are more abundant, its cost is more advantageous.
From the point of view of fast charge and low temperature performance, Ningde times previously released sodium ion battery products, in the case of 15 minutes of charging can reach 80% of the capacity, in the low temperature environment of minus 20℃, still can maintain more than 90% discharge retention rate.
